Joey "Joe" D. Goodin

Born August 1, 1958 in Pekin to Gerald “Jerry” and Joanne (Bittner) Goodin, he married Carol L. “Susie” (Rife) Weeks on August 14, 1990 at Nashville, Tennessee. She survives.

Also surviving are his mother of Pekin; one son, Justin Goodin of Pekin; three step-daughters, Vicky (Steve Hilst) Wright, Lori (Dave) Sego and Jennifer (Doug) Carlson, all of Pekin; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Goodin and Jeff Goodin, both of Pekin and two sisters, Jeannie (Mike) Couri and Janel (Mike) Schneider, both of Pekin.

He was preceded in death by his father; one sister, Jeri L. Hilst and one great-grandchild, Everett McInnis.

Joe worked on the railroad for more than 30 years, retiring from Union-Pacific Railway in 2017 as a foreman.

He enjoyed playing pool and had been a member of many pool leagues. Joe also enjoyed working in his yard, playing bags and working puzzles.

Joe was a member of the Pekin Moose Family Center #916, where a celebration of life gathering will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2022. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
