**** Due to the weather, a visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday has been also added. The funeral is still planned for 10 a.m. ****PEKIN ~ Jill Ann Pomrenke, 29, of 103 Thrush Avenue, passed away at 5:29 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2007 at her home.
Born July 26, 1977 in Pekin to Leahmon Dee and Melvina Jane (Abney) Pankey, she married Ricky Duane Pomrenke on April 22, 2000 in Groveland. He survives.
Also surviving are her mother, Melvina J. Pankey of North Pekin; one daughter, Hannah J. Pomrenke of Pekin, age 5; one step-son, Tyler Carr of Mason City; four sisters, Brenda J. Terrell of Havana, Susan K. Hedrick and Cynthia L. McNeely, both of Pekin, and Julie D. (Joe) Stevenson of North Pekin; four brothers, Mark S. (Donna) Pankey of Manito, Alan J. Pankey of North Pekin, Philip J. Pankey of Marquette Heights, and Shane D. (Ayana) Pankey of Peoria; and mother-in-law, Norma Jean Pomrenke of Pekin.
She was preceded in death by her father on March 1, 1995 in Iowa City, Iowa, one brother (James W. Pankey), father-in-law (Robert D. Pomrenke), two brother-in-laws; and one great-nephew.
Jill had worked as the assistant manager at Hollywood Video and later worked at Thornton Oil Company, both in Pekin. She last worked at Casey's General Store at Main Street and Route 98 in North Pekin.
She was a member of the Lighthouse Church of God in Pekin.
Jill enjoyed coloring and playing games with her daughter Hannah.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2007at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Sammy Barger and Rev. Loy R. Sutterfield will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2007at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
