Born November 30, 1934 in St. Clair, Michigan to William and Mary (MacKinnon) MacNeil, she married Harold “Hoss” Harley Temple in Pekin. He died January 2, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Hugh “Tuffy” MacNeil.
Surviving are two daughters, Beth (Greg) Snider of South Pekin and Lynn Beimfohr of Pekin; one son, Victor (Lori) Temple of Douglas, Wyoming; three granddaughters, Jackie Snider of Pekin, Amanda Temple of Douglas, Wyoming and Michelle Anderson of Pekin; three grandsons, Dustin Snider of Springfield, Aaron (Lindsey) Temple of Casper, Wyoming and Jason (Natalie) Anderson of West Frankfort; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Delores was a veteran of the United States Women’s Army Corps (WAC) and served as past president of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary.
She had worked at Caterpillar, Inc. as key punch operator for 40 years before retiring January 1, 1997.
Delores enjoyed playing bingo, traveling and spending time with family.
She was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.
Her funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday morning at the church. Burial will be at Woodrow Cemetery in rural Pekin. Military rites will be provided by the United States Army and Tazewell Military Rites Team.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
