Born October 9, 1944 in Lake County, Tennessee to Earl and Mazel Lee (Sadler) Richardson, he married Olive “Corky” Vertus Turner on June 8, 1963 in Vienna. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Randall Richardson of Delavan, Tony (April) Richardson of Green Valley and Terry (Sarah) Richardson of Canton; two grandsons, Dalton Richardson of Pekin and Corey Richardson of Canton; one step grandson, Colton Etter; one sister, Carolyn (Gene) Allen of Lincoln and one brother, Bobby Richardson of Bush.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Leonard, Johnie and Dallas; three sisters in law, Ruth Hamlin, Nancy Richardson and Margaret Richardson and one brother in law, Garry Turner.
Jerry had worked as a machinist at Caterpillar, Inc. in East Peoria for 31 years, retiring in 1998.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening, woodworking and working in his yard. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
Jerry was a member of Pekin First Church of the Nazarene.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2022 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor W. Lloyd Brock will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 Thursday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
