Born July 29, 1944 in Pekin to James and Louise Marie (Von Boeckman) Albritton, she married Jerald William McDonald on August 24, 1963 in Pekin. He died July 10, 2010 in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by her father; her stepfather, who helped raise her, Donald M. Ronvich on January 8, 2005.
Surviving are her mother, Louise Ronvich of Pekin; four daughters, Michelle (LTC Ret. Jeff) Winters of Ann Arbor, MI, Angela (Scott) Jones of Pekin, Melissa (Dr. Mark) Zaayenga of Tremont and Heidi Black of Batavia; ten grandchildren, Samantha (2LT Zachary Briggs) Winters, Emily Winters, Sarah (Korey) Banks, Alex Jones, Montana Jones, Maxwell Jones, Ethan Zaayenga, Jaret Zaayenga, Jevon Black and Sophia Black; one great-granddaughter, Molly Jones and one sister, Janet Boyer of Pekin. She also was looking forward to the arrival of another great-grandchild in February of 2016.
She was a 1962 graduate of Pekin Community High School.
Jerry Lynne had worked for Standard Brands in the lab until shortly after her marriage, then at Corn Products, also in the lab. She later worked as a caseworker for the State of Illinois Department of Public Aid in Tazewell County. She also had worked for Lester and Phyllis Haas at their bakery at County Market, working the counter and making ice cream.
Her favorite job was babysitting her grandchildren. She loved to read and cook, but her greatest joy was her family. She was a big sports fan and especially enjoyed following golf and tennis. Jerry Lynne also nurtured many friendships, including the ladies in her bunco group.
Jerry Lynne was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.
Her funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 6, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, with the recitation of the Rosary at 3:15 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin.
