James Harry Wilson

Born on February 3, 1941 in Chicago to John and Mary Jane (Sipes) Wilson, he married Betty Jean Edburg on June 27, 1987. She died March 1, 2022 in Peoria. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Crystal Wilson; one granddaughter, Jasmine Swanson and two brothers, Charles Wilson and John Ralph Wilson.

Surviving are seven children, Vickie (Jason) Robards of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, Jamie Carrick of Peoria, Martin Wilson of Joliet, Tammy (David) Schenk of Joliet, Dawn (Ted) Gardner of Pekin, James (Sherry) Swanson of Chillicothe and Michael Swanson of Houston, Texas; 25 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one sister, Jeanette Duffield of Arizona and one brother, Jeff Wilson of Bloomington.

He was a veteran of United States Army.

His graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday, November 22 at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.

Military honors will be provided by the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
