James “Jim” Edward Matlock, age 79, of Pekin, Illinois passed away Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Unity Point Health Methodist in Peoria, Illinois.

He was born January 23, 1940 in Martin, Tennessee to Trumen and Juanita Matlock.

He married Barbara (Bouchez) Matlock May 31, 2002 in Pekin, Illinois. She survives.

Also surviving are children, Alan (Holly), Debbie (Peter) and Tod (Cindy); step-children, Lola, Clifford and Scott; grandchildren, Jason, Justin, Mark, James, Sarah, Peter, T.J. ,Johnny, Alyssa and Alex; step-grandchildren, Trevor, Desiree, Alexis, Mike, Brittany, Zach and Maddie; several great-grandchildren; and siblings, Bill, Susie, Dale and Diane.

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Robert, Betty Jo, Kenneth, Eugene, Donna, Gerald and Richard.

Jim was a Teamster truck driver for Bakemart until retiring. After retirement he worked at Menards for 12 years.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Davison-Fulton Woolsey Funeral Home, 301 Broadway St., Pekin, IL 61554.

Dr. Steven Tassell will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the New Hope Baptist Church, 1216 S. 13th St. Pekin, IL 61554.
