Born October 22, 1957 in Flanagan to Richard and Phyllis (Frye) Knight, he married Jane Mellor on May 1, 2004 in Corona de Tucson, Arizona. She survives.
Also surviving are two children, Micole (Ben) Greving of Ellsinore, Missouri and Landin Lewis of Tucson, Arizona; one grandchild, Wilder Greving; and two siblings, Jon (Suse) Knight of Maine and Judith Knight of Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
James was a technician at Caterpillar Inc. for over 30 years.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing and riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed grilling and barbequing for his family.
There will be no service. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
