Born July 30, 1931 in Wyoming, Illinois to William and Ethel (Snow) Dixon, he married Charlene Walker on August 4, 1951 in Brazil, Indiana. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Terry (Lawrence) Dowden of El Paso, Patti Dixon of Washington and Susan Rakestraw of Creve Coeur; ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Penny Isbell; one brother and three sisters.
He was a United States Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.
Harry retired in 1997 from Morton Buildings, where he was a maintenance foreman. Harry enjoyed working therefore he drove part-time in retirement. He also was a private pilot and flight instructor for many years.
He formerly attended Liberty Bible Church in Eureka.
His private graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Smithville Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
