Born February 2, 1933 in Pekin to Charles E. and Alene (Pickerel) Bailey, he married Barbara Jean Stifle on June 16, 1951 in Pekin. She died January 5, 2004 in Pekin. Also preceding him in death are his parents; two sons, Scott in 1951, Grant in 2003 and two sisters, Virginia and Pearlene.
Surviving are one granddaughter, Shannon Bailey of Pekin; 2 great-granddaughters, Cheanice A. Schott of Glasford, Bailey C.J. Owens of Pekin; two brothers, Captain James (Eileen) Bailey of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Larry Bailey of Pekin and one sister, Shirley Bailey of Oxnard, California.
Harold had served in the United States Navy during the Korean War era.
He had worked for Caterpillar, Inc., over 35 years, retiring in 1989 from the tire facility as an electrician and maintenance.
Harold was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Harley Owners Group.
He loved and was devoted to his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and family. He also enjoyed riding and working on his Harley, going to motorcycle races, watching college sports and country music. He could also often be found tinkering on and building things.
Per his wishes, there will be no services or visitation. Cremation will be accorded. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
