He was born September 27, 1947 in rural Havana, the son of Carl J. and Jeannette (McDonald) Steging.
He is survived by his four children, Laura Van Alyne, Matthew Steging, Stacy Dressler-Brown and JC Steging; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Trudy Steging.
He was a graduate of Havana High School.
Glen was a jack of all trades and loved being outside doing things with his hands. He spent years building houses in the Bloomington area as well as selling seed corn and other agricultural supplies for companies like Pioneer and Pfizer.
He loved coaching his kids on the field and off and volunteering at the Tremont Turkey Festival. He was known to sneak strawberry shortcake and turkey when no one was looking.
A gathering celebrating Glen’s like will be Sunday, May 4, 2025 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Tremont Community Center located at 216 South Sampson Street.
