Gladys Sue Boles

Born September 5, 1917 in Manito, Illinois to Abraham and Ida (Janssen) Spaits; she married Homer C. Boles July 3, 1940 in Davenport, Iowa and he preceded her in death in 1997. Also preceding in death were her parents; siblings, Emma Arms, Margaret Tegtmeyer, Fannie Dearth, Elsie Rowan, Imogene Seelye, Helen Schappaugh, Franklin Spaits and Harold Spaits.

Gladys is survived by many nieces and nephews.

She worked as a secretary at the Pekin Daily Times newspaper and retired in 1977 after twenty-two years of service. She was an avid Cubs fan and was the Past President of the Women of the Church Bible Club in Bonita Springs.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Monday, January 15, 2018 at Davison-Fulton Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin with the Rev. Carolyn Roper-Fowlkes officiating. Visitation will be one half hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.

She will be buried in a private ceremony next to her husband at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
