George was born July 17, 1930 in Pekin to George H. and Dorothy A. (LeSeure) Wubben. They preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Craig (Lowenda) Wubben; one sister, Dorothy (Walt) Kleiber; two nieces, Kathy Knight and Staci Kuerst; one nephew Craig L. Wubben and one brother-in-law, Bobby Crume.
Surviving are one sister, Ginger Crume of Texas; four nieces, Deanna Wubben of Pekin, Teresa (Robert) Means of East Peoria, Diana (Dennis) Sours of Manito and Karen Crume of Canyon, Texas; two nephews, Mark Wubben of Pekin and Kevin (Melissa) Crume of Canyon, Texas.
George worked at Corn Products Company in Pekin for 30 years, retiring in 1981.
George was a member and Head Trustee of the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers Union #6772 for over 20 years, Pekin Masonic Lodge #29 for 49 years, CPC Pioneer Club, Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Peoria, and Greater Pekin Bowling Association Hall of Fame.
George was an avid hunter, fisherman, and bowler for over 50 years. He was the best brother and uncle anyone could have asked for.
His graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, October 22, 2021 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. The Rev. Eric Swanson will officiate.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory Pekin.
