Born November 12, 1940 in Butler, Missouri to George Wilcox, Sr. and Ima Jean Wilcox, he married Evelyn E. Bennett on November 17, 1964. She died October 24, 2007 in Pekin. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, Gary Johnson and his sister, Janice Wilcox.
Surviving are three daughters, Joyce Wood of Pekin, Carol Hutter of Washington and Benita Kyle of North Pekin; eleven grandsons, David, Joey, Doug, Corey, Trever, Chandler, Tony, Nick, Chase, Blake, and Dalton; one granddaughter, Jenny; 16 great-grandchildren and one sister, Judy Wilcox of Belton, Missouri.
George was a truck driver for over 48 years before retiring from Cox Transfer Inc. He had also spent many years as a farmhand.
He was a 42 year member of the Empire Lodge 126, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons in Pekin. He enjoyed old trucks and John Deere tractors. He also enjoyed watching the Three Stooges and drinking Dr. Pepper. In his younger days he enjoyed swing dancing and had a lucrative business mowing lawns around Pekin.
There will be no services. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
