Born August 11, 1934 in East Peoria to Elmer I. and Louella (Field) Walker, he married Clara June Fries on February 28, 1953 in East Peoria. She died March 24, 2023 in Morton. He also was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Elmer Walker, Jr., Charles Walker and Jerry Walker and two sisters, Carol Martin and Frances Ausmus.
Surviving are one daughter, Lisa (Jay) Fox of Jacksonville; one son, Brian (Jennifer) Walker of Hopedale; three grandchildren, Nick Fox of Jacksonville, Rachel (Kyle) Ledbetter and Kayla Walker, both of Hopedale and two great-grandchildren, Chevelle Ledbetter and Josiah Ledbetter. He also leaves one sister-in-law, Phyllis (J.W.) Williamson of Morton.
He was passionate about following and serving his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was Pastor of Grace Chapel in Marquette Heights for 24 years, retiring in 2004. He previously served Harvard Hill Baptist Church in Washington. Ed also worked as an Electrician at Caterpillar, Inc. from 1951 to 1991.
He attended Gethsemane Church in Pekin, loved fishing and was a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
A private graveside service will be held in Glendale Cemetery in Washington, with military rites conducted by the United States Army. There will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to his friends at- Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
