Born September 23, 1927 in Pike County, Ohio to George and Cora M. Rose Rose, he married Shirley Marie Schrake on August 29, 1969 in Radcliff, Kentucky. She died December 26, 1981 in Pekin. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother (John Rose).
Surviving are four daughters, Diane Rose of Mount Holly, New Jersey, Teresa Rose and Kelley (Brad) Anderson, both of Pekin, and Cindy Woods of Indianapolis, Indiana; three sons, Eric Rose, Brian (Michelle) Rose, and Kevin Rose, all of Pekin; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and sister-in-law, Nancy Jones of Dayton, Ohio.
He served in the United States Army for 20 years, retiring July 31, 1974. He attained the rank of Sergeant First Class.
He worked for Midwest Grain Products in Atchison, Kansas and later in Pekin where he retired in 1989 as a boiler operator.
Frank enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking, watching wrestling, and spending time with his family.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, November 24, 2006at Overly Chapel in rural Chillicothe, Ohio. The Rev. Tim Robertson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel and also one hour before the funeral Friday at the church. Burial will be in Overly Chapel Cemetery in rural Chillicothe, Ohio, where military rites will be accorded.
