Born April 30, 1943 in Peoria to George C. and Maxine Fay (Kimzey), he married Judith C. Betson on August 5, 1985 in Marshall, TX. They preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by one brother-in-law.
Surviving are three sons, Craig Richards of Washington, Todd (Shannon) Richards of Aberdeen, MD, and Troy Gibbons of Elmwood; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, David (Karen) of Yates City; one sister, Cheryl Miller of Moroa.
Terry grew up in Hanna City and graduated from Farmington Community High School and Bradley University. He was a longtime Bradley Braves basketball fan.
Terry was a teacher, coach, and principal for many years, with many of those years with Peoria Public Schools District 150.
An avid gardener, model train builder and member of River City Railroad Club in Pekin he was also a member and board member of the Greater Peoria Rose Society. He loved to exhibit his roses on semi-national stages. He was a member of the Celestial City Camping Club.
He will be remembered for doting on his grandchildren.
His Interment was accorded at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
