George Melvin Jackson

Born September 26, 1952 in Pekin to Melvin Edward and Beverly Maxine (Krigner) Jackson, he married Carla Lee (Bangren) Flanders on July 9, 1982 in Pekin. She died October 14, 2023 in Pekin. He also was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Melva A. Smith.

Surviving are one son, Brady (Bianca) Jackson of Sulzbach-Rosenberg, Germany; five grandchildren, Bianca (Matt) Wenck of Charles Town, West Virginia, Brenten Jackson of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Brylin Jackson, Brayden Jackson and Brycen Jackson, all of Sulzbach-Rosenberg, Germany; two great-grandchildren, Hazel Wenck and Zoey Wagner; one sister, Linda Thomas of St. Louis, Missouri; one brother, Joseph (Judy) Jackson of Green Valley and his sister-in-law, Lauri (Bob) Shepperd of Pekin.

George was a retired member of Ironworkers Local 112 in East Peoria.

He was drawn to anything to do with cars whether it be car shows, car magazines and perusing automobile dealerships lots on a Sunday. He also took pride in taking care of his cars.

He was beloved by his family.

Cremation will be accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Inurnment will be in Green Valley Cemetery at a later date.
