Gary Thomas Straesser

Born November 26, 1940 in Peoria, he was the son of Chris Robert and Lillian (Bell) Straesser. His parents preceded him in death.

Surviving are two daughters, Gaylynn Allen of Groveland and Kristin (John) Rembold of East Peoria; one son, Bennett Straesser of Crossville, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Raechel Pfahl, Reid (Kat) Rembold and Ian (Will) Allen-Kruzan and one sister, Janis A. Straesser of Peoria.

An East Peoria resident for most of his life, Gary worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 42 years, retiring in 1999 from quality management.

He enjoyed fishing and enjoyed watching John Wayne movies. He was a Mason and also a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Peoria.

A private graveside service will be held in Dickison Cemetery in Dunlap. There will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
