Gary Lee Beckhoff

Born May 22, 1940 in Toledo, Ohio to Herbert and Evelyn (Friedell) Beckhoff, he married Sheila Walterschield in 1969. She died in 1997. He later married Vicki Adams on November 6, 1999 in Toledo, Ohio. She survives.

Also surviving are two children, John Beckhoff of Pekin and Christine (Michael) Rybka of Perrysburg, Ohio; two stepchildren, Tonya Hieser and Kim (Andrew) Baker, both of Pekin; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Mark Beckhoff and one infant brother.

Gary had worked as a custodian for the University of Toledo for 22 years, retiring in 1995. Following retirement, he delivered newspaper for the Toledo Blade, Peoria Journal Star and Pekin Daily Times.

He enjoyed bowling, stamp collecting and working on his computer. Gary was also a fan of the Toledo Rockets and Toledo Mud Hens.

Gary was a member of the Pekin First Church of the Nazarene.

His private visitation and funeral service will be Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. W. Lloyd Brock will officiate. The service will be recorded and placed on Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes Facebook page. Burial will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
