Born March 16, 1942 in Peoria to Clyde and Dorothy (Brown) Aberle, he married Kathleen Nelson on April 17, 1982 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Greg Nelson of Carson City, Nevada; three granddaughters, Sydney and McKenna Nelson of Peoria and Talia Nelson of Peoria Heights; one sister, Margaret (Ron) Kellogg of Mossville; one aunt, Virginia Aberle of Peoria; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Angela Aberle who passed away in 1989; one son, Bryon Aberle, who died in 2013; two brothers, Clyde Aberle, Jr. and David Aberle; and one sister, Kathryn Zillion.
He had served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1966.
Frank had attended First Missionary Church in North Pekin and was a member of Limestone American Legion Post 979 in Bartonville.
He had worked as a laborer out of Laborers’ Local #165 for 55 years, with the last 34 years employed by Illinois American Water Company. He began his career reading meters and in later years, he operated a backhoe.
From the early 1990’s, until his health no longer permitted, Frank was an avid scuba diver. He made many trips to the Caribbean, logging over 250 dives. He loved fishing and was a lifelong hunter of ducks, geese, deer and morels.
His memorial service will be at noon Saturday, April 25, 2015 at First Missionary Church, 114 Lincoln Blvd., North Pekin. Pastor Tony Darr will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial of cremated remains will be in Hirstein Cemetery in Morton at a later date.
