Elsie M Sutton

Born June 12, 1917 in Quiver Township, Mason County to Charles and Amy (Hoffman) Rountree, she married Lloyd Sutton on June 7, 1942 in Petersburg.

Surviving are two sons, Larry D. (Eileen) Sutton of North Fort Meyers, Florida and Ronald L. (Connie) Sutton of Pekin; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Lascelles of Prescott Valley, Arizona.

Elsie was a homemaker and a beautician.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Morton and a former member of Liberty Baptist Church in Pekin and the Kilbourne Baptist Church.

She was always an active member of the ladies' Sunday school class and missionary circles.

Elsie was a long time member of the Mason County Home Extension and enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, reading, and music.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2007at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Pastor Richard Shaw will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
