Eleanor B. Watkins

Eleanor B. (Burbridge) Watkins, 96, of Pekin, Illinois, passed away at 2:38 p.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Timbercreek Rehab and Healthcare Center in Pekin. Born June 16, 1915 in Peoria, Illinois, to Lester W. and Margaret (Wall) Haney, she married John (Hank) Burbridge. He preceded her in death in 1970. She later married Floyd E. Watkins January 9, 1986 in Pekin. He preceded her in death October 26, 1996.

Surviving are one sister, Mrs.Viola (Donald) Smith of East Peoria; four step daughters; one stepson; four grandchildren, Cindy Kavanaugh of Pekin, Rodney Burbridge of Pekin, Patti (Tim) Johnston of Spring Arbor, Michigan and Lesley Burbridge of Tennessee; One daughter in law, Patricia Burbridge of Michigan, one sister in law Patricia Haney of Arizona, six great-grandchildren; several step great-grandchildren and step great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, and two sons, Henry (Hank) Burbridge and Charles Burbridge and two brothers, Lester and Ralph Haney.

Eleanor worked at Pekin Glass & Mirror, and later at Parkview Golf Course. She was a member of First Christian Church in Pekin; the Elizabeth Circle; and the Women of the Moose in Pekin.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2011 at Davison-Fulton Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin, with Rev. Michael K. Roberts officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
