Born September 25, 1958 in Pekin to Calvin Hugh and Sandra (McDaniel) Moeller, he married Kelly Jean Trewyn on November 30, 1994 in Kissimmee, Florida. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother of Madison, Wisconsin; two daughters, Megan Moeller of Pekin and Stephanie (T.J.) Watts of Manito; two grandchildren, Griffin Watts and Jaden Watts; one sister, Debbie Parksey of Madison, Wisconsin; one brother, Noah (Lorri) Lenne of Pekin; one sister-in-law, Tracy Redshaw of Pekin; three nephews, Tyler (Hayle) Parksey of Madison, Scott Lenne of Green Valley and Tom Redshaw of Pekin and three nieces, Jamie (Zachary) O’Brien, Katelyn (Greg) Halko, both of Madison and Audrey Pennington of Pekin.
He was preceded in death by his father; his brother-in-law, Bruce Parksey and his grandparents, Eleanor Neice and Edward and Mattie Moeller.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Ed was a union laborer working out of Laborer’s Local 231 in Pekin for 31 years. He worked for lots of different companies making friends on every job. Well liked and highly respected as a fellow laborer, he believed in union rights for everyone.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, family, good music and good friends. Ed was a diehard fan of the Chicago Bears and Cubs. He loved to laugh and tell stories from the past. He fought a long battle with COPD for the last 15 years. We were very blessed to have him. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
His memorial Mass will be at noon on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, where military rites will be accorded by Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County. Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
