Born February 12, 1957 in Morganfield, Kentucky to Duel and Reba (Wright) Markham, he married Brenda Oliver on June 25, 1984 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Reba Markham of Morganfield, Kentucky; five children, Phillip (Tonya) Markham of Manito, Jessica (Loren) Meeker of Delavan, Eliana Markham of Peoria, Kaylee Markham of Morton and Ami Markham of Manito; nine grandchildren, Jacob Markham, Isaac Meeker, Keira Markham, Isaiah Meeker, Lilie Meeker, Olivia Meeker, Elijah Meeker, Ezekiel Meeker and Jeremy Spires; one sister, Tanya Podhorsky of Danvers and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Roger Markham.
Ed worked as a machinist at Caterpillar, Inc. for 20 years, retiring in 2009.
He loved hunting, fishing, four wheeling and anything to do with tractors. He enjoyed racing and used to race motorcycles, stock cars and BMX. Although he enjoyed many activities, his favorite thing to do was spend time with his grandchildren.
Ed attended Spring Lake Missionary Church in Manito.
His memorial visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
