Donna Rhea Benefield

Born March 14, 1937 in Sterling to Paul and Catherine (Coy) Parks, she was raised and adopted by Alvin and Ann (Parks) Teske. She married Raymond E. Benefield on November 3, 1957. He died on August 5, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one infant daughter, Lisa Benefield.

Surviving are five children, Lori (Ty) Delaware of Pekin, Lance (Sharon) Benefield of Dunlap, Lyle (Deborah) Benefield of Pekin, Lyn (Scott) Hodgson of Green Valley and Leigh (Andrew) Volpert of Springfield; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and seven siblings, Leann (James) Mallicoat, Carol (William) Eberly and John (Sue) Teske, all of Sterling, Tom Teske of Katy, Texas, Mark Parks and Joel Parks, both of Sterling and Peggy Bollinger of Dixon.

A homemaker, Donna loved reading, singing and playing the piano and spending time with family.

She was a longtime member of Bethel Baptist Church in Pekin, where she loved participating in all church activities.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2024 at Bethel Baptist Church in Pekin. Pastor Steve Rowell will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior at the church. Burial will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
