Born December 2, 1929 in Evansville, Indiana, he was the son of Leslie Robertson. He married Deloris Loree Peppers on March 11, 1950 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Cheryl (Joe) Lentz of Panama City Beach, FL and Gwyn (Michael) Brechtel of Rockford; one son, Jack (Lynda) Robertson of Pekin; six grandchildren, Michael Parker, Kristine (Todd) Cloyd, Megan Brechtel, Joshua (Heather) Robertson, Jacob Robertson, and Jenna (Jacob) Richardson; and eight great-grandchildren, Jordan Parker, Kedynce Parker, Chloe Parker, Kensley Cloyd, Elisa Perez, Justin Perez, Ryder Yancey, and Johnathan Robertson.
He was preceded in death by his father; granddaughter, Jolene Williamson; one sister, June Robertson; and two brothers, Ralph Robertson and William Robertson.
A United States Air Force veteran, he served from January 7, 1947 to January 6, 1950. He attained the rank of Sergeant and was assigned with the 393rd Bomb Squadron.
Donald worked as a carpenter and millwright for many years. He later worked for General Electric, retiring in January of 1992 as a field engineer.
Donald loved working with his tools and building different things. He cherished spending time with his family especially with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin where military rites will be accorded by the United States Air Force.
