Donald J. Koehler

He was born October 21, 1929 in Akron, Ohio to Orlo O. and Berniece N. (Sweet) Koehler. He married Lorraine Smith December 22, 1951 in Peoria. She survives along with one daughter, Delight (Rick) Bernath of Durand; two grandchildren: Stuart and April Bernath; and two brothers: Bob (Jane) Koehler of Woodstock, Illinois and Ward Koehler of ElPaso, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Richard and Forbes Koehler.

Donald earned a Bachelor Degree in Agriculture from the University of Illinois. He was a United States Army veteran and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. Following his time in the military, Don was a Professional Land Surveyor in the State of Illinois. He worked for several companies and was currently employed at the Jones Engineering Co. in Macomb.

He was a member of the Professional Land Surveyors Organization.

Funeral services will be Thursday July 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin. Rev. Jack Thompson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
