Born September 27, 1932, in South Pekin to Oscar Virgil and Minnie Mae (Lord) Dorsey, she married Robert Lyle Ingram on Dec. 17, 1950 in Pekin. He died October 8, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Cecil, Melvin, Donald, Oscar, James, and Lyle Dorsey and two sisters, Virginia Dorsey and Ethel (Dorsey) Arnett Emory.
Surviving are two daughters, Deborah (Richard) Adlof of St Louis, MO and Deanna Denise (Douglas McGinty) Ingram of Stafford, VA.; one son, Bradford (Carol) Ingram of East Peoria; three granddaughters, Stephanie (Blaine Walker) Ingram of Highlands Ranch, CO, Sara (Corey) Ingram Parham of Lakewood, CO., and Jessica (Jonathan) Adlof Bachmann of St. Louis, MO; two grandsons Adam (Jessica) Ingram of Golden, CO., and Jonathan Adlof of St Louis, MO; three great-granddaughters, Addison Ingram, Emma Ingram and Riley Parham: five great-grandsons, Max Parham, Ezekiel Ingram, Zachary Ingram, Owen Bachmann and Noah Walker; and two sisters, Bernetta Dorsey McCloud of Creve Coeur, and Phyllis (Frank) Dorsey Sprague of Farmington.
Deloris worked as office manager for the Groveland Township Supervisor from 1977 to 1985. Before that she worked for the Groveland Township tax assessor's office. As a young woman, she worked in a dime store in Farmington, IL. Along with her husband, she was active in the Democratic Party and served as a State Central Committeewoman. She was active in Mother's Club at Groveland Grade School, serving as President.
Most importantly she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother.
She was an active member of the First Christian Church in Pekin for over 50 years.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Preston Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Hank Anderson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
