Debra K Maher

She was born March 3, 1958 in Peoria to Robert and Berdeena (Ashley) Burnett. She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Berdeena and Wiley Huggins, Sr. and one brother, Robert Huggins.

Surviving are two daughters, Angel Clark of Pekin and Lisa Bencher of Peoria; four grandchildren, Nicole (Austin) Conner, Samantha Ewing, Kristin Ewing and Michael Ewing; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sharon Perkins and Wanda Speener and two brothers, Wiley Dewey Huggins, Jr. and Billy Huggins.

Debra was a CNA and caregiver in the area for many years.

A giving person, Debra loved to laugh and make others laugh. She loved writing and was a published poet. She also enjoyed playing dice and cards with family and friends.

Her memorial visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. There will be no services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Tazewell County Resource Centers, 21310 Illinois Route 9, Tremont, IL 61568.
