Debbie Lee Simpkins

Born April 2, 1958 in Peoria to Hollis and Patsy (Bell) King, she married Michael E. “Gypsy” Simpkins on June 19, 1993 in Pekin. He died September 9, 2023 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers and two sisters.

Surviving are five children, Douglas Dunn, II of Pekin, Samantha (Rick) McLean of Missouri, Pamela (Louie Saunders) Williamson and Brandon (Blake) Simpkins, both of Pekin and Jonathan (Natalie) Green of Creve Coeur; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; six sisters and one brother.

Debbie had worked as a CNA for 40 years at various locations, including Hallmark Healthcare of Pekin and Timbercreek Rehab & Health Care in Pekin before retiring this year.

She enjoyed drinking her coffee while smoking a cigarette, watching Flipping Houses and tending to her dogs, which she rescued.

A gathering celebrating both Debbie and Michael’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
