He was born April 29, 1961 in Hartley, Iowa to Donald Dean and Delores Irene (Boetel) Wohlert. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Dayle Adam Wohlert.
Surviving is his mother, Delores of Morton; one brother, David Wohlert of Manito and one nephew, David (Tasha McQuaid) Wohlert Jr. of Manito.
A fan of Chicago Bears and Cubs, Dean enjoyed and found solitude being outdoors, even if it was working, sitting around a fire listening to music and drinking a cold beer or fishing off the dock and visiting with friends. He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially the Earnhardt’s, Dale Sr. and Dale Jr. or whoever was leading against Jeff Gordon was Dean’s driver of the day.
Dean had a great personality and never met a stranger. He lived life to the fullest and was always the life of the party. A person could never stay angry, even during the midst of an argument, which would usually end in laughter.
He was stricken with Covid and his health was seriously compromised and left him with lingering pain from nerve damage due to shingles.
Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. No services are scheduled at this time.
A special request for all of Dean’s friends is to grab a cold beer and enjoy it in his honor. A farewell salute to a great guy.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Midwest Affiliate, 530 Northeast Glen Oak Avenue, Peoria, Illinois 61637.
