Born July 5, 1955 in Pekin to Marion H. and Helen (Van Dyke), he married Debbie Pyeatte on June 6, 2003 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Sara (Tim) Clark of Peoria Heights, Ashley (Kyle Seipp) Oltman of Elgin, Shawna Clor of Arizona; three grandchildren, Taylor Strickler, Nolan Seipp and Clive Clor, (who he never missed an opportunity to buy a stuffed animal or two for) and one sister, Diane (Rusty) Ayers of Huntley.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
David was employed by the Boilermakers Local Lodge No. 83, where he traveled throughout the United States for work. During one such trip in 2001, David was part of the recovery and clean-up efforts at the World Trade Center.
In his time off, David loved riding his motorcycle, entertaining friends and being with his family. He had a love of animals that led to him adopting several pets to bring home over the years. He never knew a stranger and would not only give the shirt off his back, but a couple extras to anyone that needed it.
A celebration of David’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation will be accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to The Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758571, Topeka, KS 66675 or to Tazewell Animal Protective Society, 100 Taps Lane, Pekin, IL 61554
