David was born November 5, 1942 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Paul Graydon and Myrtle Marie (Turner) Lowery. He attended Pekin High School then enlisted into the Air Force in 1960. He later worked at the American Distillery in Pekin for several years before returning to school to obtain a certification as a Heating and Air Conditioning Technician. After retiring, he returned to Pekin to help his aging mother until her passing in 2012. He was a lifelong Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan as well as an avid NASCAR fan.
David is survived by two sons, Greg (Kim) Lowery of Oregon, Mike (Teri) Lowery of Florida; two daughters, Denise (Rod) Cook of Florida and Paula (Chyane) LeMasters of Oregon; his brother, Paul G. Lowery Jr of Georgia; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Glenda Faye (Lowery) Schmidt and one brother, Alan Ray Lowery.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor John Plunkett will officiate. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will follow the service in War Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Pekin.
