Born November 7, 1965 in Pekin to Daniel M. and Betty J. (Bourquin) Sapp, he married Kathy L. Davis on November 15, 1997 in Groveland.
Surviving are his wife of 27 years; three daughters, Taylor (Tony) Watts of Delavan, Jordyn Vettore of Morton and Brittany Davis of Pekin; one son, Tyler Sapp of Pekin; seven grandchildren, Brayson, Layla, Field, Hayden, Braelynn, Hadlee and Aubrey; two grand-dogs, Bruce and Alfred and eight siblings, Jeff (Vicki) Sapp of Pekin, Robyn (Jeff) Teuscher of Marquette Heights, Shawna (Jason) Erxleben of North Pekin, Deanise Brandt of Pekin, Patti (Jeff) Schaefer of Pekin, Shannon Sapp of North Pekin, Todd (Tammy) Sapp of Morton and Brian Sapp of North Pekin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Penny Meixsell and Tim Sapp.
Danny had worked as a salesman at Ray Dennison Chevrolet in Pekin for 30-plus years.
An avid Chicago Bears and University of Illinois and March Madness fan, Danny enjoyed hunting in his youth. His fondness for catfish fishing brought the Twisted Cat Outdoors and Cabela’s King Kat Fishing Tournaments to Pekin’s Riverfront.
Danny was an outstanding track athlete at Pekin Community High School, where he held the school record for the mile run for many years. He also participated in different track events in Jr. Olympics.
He was a dedicated family man and was the best Papa ever.
His funeral will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 4:45 p.m. before the service. Cremation will be accorded following.
