Cinda Kay Martin

Born January 29, 1966 in Peoria to Floren and Betty (Baynard) Chester, she married Terry Lee Martin on August 10, 1997 in Pekin. He died May 28, 2008 in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by her father.

Surviving are one daughter, Amber Kay Martin of Pekin; one brother, Brian (Pam) Chester of Pekin and her mother, Betty Chester of Pekin.

She worked more than 20 years in the shoe department at Bergner’s until its closing. She also worked for five years with Addus HomeCare in East Peoria.

Cinda was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer in January of 2024. She continued to work the whole time for Addus, while undergoing treatment. She was then was diagnosed with brain cancer on December 1st.

Cinda enjoyed fishing, knitting and bowling. She loved animals, especially raising guinea pigs.

She was loved and appreciated by those she worked for and with over the years. She could also be described as being hardheaded and stubborn, as well as caring those close to her.

No services are planned. Cremation will be accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
