Born May 5, 1964 in St. Louis, Missouri to Harold and Carol (Bennett) Burrows, she married the father of her children, Glen Plante. She later married Tommy VanHouten on May 13, 2015 in Monterey.
Surviving are her husband, Tommy of Manito; four children, Rebecca Plante of St. Louis, Missouri, Jeff Plante of Hopedale, Sara Foulk of Glasford and T.J. VanHouten of Pekin; six grandchildren, Madison, Gauge, Lilly Rose, Gatlin, Easton and Nevaeh; two siblings, Rick Burrows of St. Louis, Missouri and Cheryl (Mitch) Cluney of Stoutland, Missouri; several nieces and nephews and one great-niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Carolyn had worked at Walmart in Pekin for 15 years before retiring in 2017.
She enjoyed baking, reading, feeding fish and watching Yellowstone. Her greatest enjoyment was spending quality with her friends and family and watching her granddaughter do cheerleading at sporting events.
Her visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Cremation will accorded following the visitation.
