Born May 21, 1946 in Pontiac to Vernon and Kathryn (Kinsinger) Bayston, she married Michael Leo Pearce November 21, 1970 in Chenoa. He died December 18, 2012 in Peoria.
Carol was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Donald Bayston; one step-brother, Gordon Johnson, Jr.; one nephew, Jason Pearce and one great-nephew, Cord Pearce.
Surviving are one daughter, Diana Pearce of Pekin; one son, Tony (Ashley) Pearce of Peoria; two sisters, Rose Mary (Jerry) Erickson of Pontiac and Liz Joyce of St. Robert, Missouri; one brother, Fred (Alisa) Bayston of Bloomington; two sisters-in-law, Mary Pearce and Missy (Rob Brooks) Simpson; several nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and nephews and her fur grand-babies, Mabel, Sadie, Sansa and Arlo.
Carol grew up in Chenoa and completed high school, going on to complete a certificate in early education.
She worked at Little Friends as a teacher and also devoted her time to her family.
Carol loved doing arts and crafts of all kinds, making her a perfect fit assisting in many roles within the Peoria area Kickapoo Council of Girl Scouts. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, decorating and celebrating the holidays.
She was a longtime member of First English Lutheran Church in Peoria.
Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, November 18, 2024 at First English Lutheran Church in Pekin. Pastor Ryan Anderson will officiate. A visitation will be prior to the service from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Final inurnment will occur at a later date at Roberts Cemetery in Morton.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
