Born October 14, 1937 in Pekin to Clyde Everett and Laura (Emmons) Martin, he married Carmen Curto, they divorced. He later married Mary Ann Counterman in January, 1971. She died September 26, 2016 in Pekin. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Gina Wood and Deanna Martin; one sister, Edna Hots and five brothers, Dave, Ellis, Reid, Homer and Michael Sheetz.
Surviving are two daughters, Claudette (John) Sweeney of South Pekin and Kelley (Del) Nagel of Pekin; two step-sons, Rick (Elaine) Wyatt of New Market, Maryland and Ronnie (Cindy) Wyatt of South Carolina; five granddaughters, Andrea (Jacob) Cleaver, Carmen Hampton, Bridget (John) Marden, Anita (Randy) Ferris and Sarah (Josh) Tarpley; three grandsons, Nathan Wyatt, John A. Sweeney and Brandon M. Smith and many great-grandchildren.
Ivan drove a truck for RA Cullinan & Sons in Tremont for many years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and listening to blues music.
Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. There will be no services or visitation. Inurnment will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
