Born November 7, 1941 in Hoffman, Minnesota to Frank and Leona (Urbatsch) Knoll, he married Cinda Sumney on April 5, 1965 in Pekin. She died September 19, 2010 in Pekin. He later married Eliida Lakota on July 19, 2012 in East Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Shawnna Stimeling of Norfolk, New York; two grandsons, Zachary William Stimeling and Lucas Knoll Stimeling; step-son, Stephen Bale; two step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings.
Bruce was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Air Force.
He had worked as a steamfitter for 30 years out of the Local 353 in Peoria. After retirement, Bruce worked several years at Pekin Park District as a gardener.
Bruce was a master gardener, who enjoyed metal sculpting and making furniture. He loved his many cats and his dog, Honey. Bruce was a fine man and a good friend to all who meet him.
He was a member of Dayspring Native American United Methodist Church in East Peoria.
A gathering celebrating Bruce’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
