Born November 8, 1967 in Pekin, he was the son of Carl and Pamela (Sorenson) Rowland. He was later adopted by William “Bill” Cornwell at age 5. His fathers preceded him in death, along with one brother, Gene Cornwell.
Surviving are his mother, Pamela (Jack) Hall of Pekin; his wife, Denise L. (Beever) Cornwell of Pekin; two sons, Brian Cornwell, III of Washington and Andrew Cornwell of Camp Pendleton, California; three daughters, Ashley Hale of Pekin, Jamie (Shawn) Sarver of San Jose and Amber Cornwell of Pekin; five brothers, Curtis Cornwell, Dale Cornwell, both of Pekin, Michael Scachette of Glasford, Russell (Catherine) Scachette of Mapleton and Gerald (Gail) Scachette of Peoria Heights and four sisters, Annette Cornwell of Pekin, Brenda (Rick) Sherman of Peoria, Rhonda Kupfert of Cape Coral, Florida and Diane (Ray) Clover of Marion.
Brian last worked for Two P’s Pizza and Pub. He previously worked for Olt Produce delivering eggs for 13 years and then for Gebhardt’s Poultry; as a longtime welder at Pekin Welding and also working construction for Paul Antonini.
He liked sports and played baseball throughout his youth and into early adulthood. He also loved to bowl and especially enjoyed bowling in the Brother’s Tournament with Curt for many years. He was passionate about working on his Harley.
Brian was a former fire fighter with Schaeferville Fire Department for several years. He was a fan of the New York Yankees.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor James C. McClarey will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral.
