Born September 13, 1922 in Pekin to Walter and Hulda (Kirsch) Borsch, he married Lucy Elizabeth Crespan on June 8, 1946 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Bill David (Susan) Borsch of Crystal Falls, Michigan and Mark (Courtney) Borsch of Pekin; one daughter, Claudia (Raymond) Bill of Pekin; eight grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Walter Borsch; and two sisters, Lillian Illuzzi and Evalyn Rahn.
He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.
Bill worked as plumber for many area plumbing companies until he went into business for himself in 1976. He retired in 1984 after 40 years of service.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pekin. He had been a member of the Pekin Moose Family Center #916, Pekin Elk’s Lodge #1271, William Schaefer American Legion Post #44 in Pekin, and the Plumbers Local Union #63 in Peoria.
His memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2014 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Daniel Bishop will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin, where military rites will be accorded by the United States Navy.
