Bernadine J Preston

Born November 17, 1931 in Frankfort, Indiana to Leonard E. and Erma M. (Cole) Jacks, she married Julius Z. Preston, Jr. on March 3, 1951 in Peoria. He died February 10, 1993 in Creve Coeur. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one infant son, David Lee Preston, and one brother, Leonard E. Jacks, Jr.

Surviving are four daughters, Judith K. (Jerry) Teague and Carmen P. Kohl, both of Pekin; Darlene J. (Martin) Preston-Ary of Columbia, Tennessee and Rene R. White of Kingsland, Texas; two sons, Vincent V. (Terri) Preston of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Kevin L. Preston of Creve Coeur; thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; one sister Laura Mae Preston of Pekin; two half sisters, Georgianna Spires of Pekin and Sandra Kronz of Orange City, Florida; and two half-brothers, Samuel Jones of Pekin and William Jacks of Deland, Florida.

A homemaker, Bernadine enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, singing, writing and reading the Bible.

She attended Last Harvest Ministry in East Peoria.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, November 28, 2008at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral. The Rev. Robert Martin will officiate. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral.
