Barbara R McBrien

Born April 26, 1925 in Taylorville to Sam and Flora M. (Densley) Bevilacqua, she married Russell N. McBrien on January 19, 1947 in Madison, Wisconsin. He died December 26, 2005 in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving are one son, John Bruce McBrien of Independence, Missouri; one daughter, Carol C. Cenkner of Pekin; and one sister, Mary Bevilacqua of Pekin.

Barbara earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from the University of Wisconsin in 1948. She worked for the State of Illinois Department of Public Aid for 15 years and later for Lutheran Social Services for 10 years.

She had been a member of the Greater Peoria Rose Society.

Her funeral will be at10 a.m.,Friday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Rev. Jay Sowers will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
