Born May 8, 1937 in Northbrook to Henry Joseph and Lillian (Sedlacek) Kunzer, she married Lester R. Juhl on October 4, 1958 in Pekin. He died June 18, 2018. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Richard Henry Kunzer.
Surviving are six children, Richard Juhl of Pekin, Ted (Kim) Juhl of Bloomington, Kenneth (Dena Clark) Juhl, Susan Juhl, Catherine Juhl and Kevin Juhl, all of Pekin; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Alice Juhl of Pekin and Ester Fouts of Bartonville and five cousins, Carol Steurer, Loretta Johnson, Nancy Vose, Karen Wirth and Barbara Byron.
A homemaker, Barbara worked as a bus monitor for the City of Pekin until her retirement in June 2002.
She was a Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed doing genealogy work by going to different cemeteries or researching on her computer. She also loved scrapbooking.
Barbara was a loving mother and grandmother to her family and will be deeply missed by many.
Her graveside service will be at 12 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2022, at Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin. A Celebration of Barbara’s life will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Roy L. King VFW Post 1232 in Pekin.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
