Austin Nau, 17, of rural Glasford, Illinois, died Friday, at 6:16 AM September 30, 2011 at OSF St Francis Hospital in Peoria. He was born December 17, 1993 in Peoria, Illinois. He is the son of Michael and Beth (Bailliez) Nau. They survive, along with three sisters, Kayla (Adam) Miller of Tinley Park, Illinois, Torey and Moriah Nau both of Glasford, Illinois. Also surviving are his grandparents, Ed and Eleanor Nau, and Loren and Darlene Bailliez all of Glasford, Illinois. He is leaving behind a huge loving family and a group of exceptional friends.
Austin loved to laugh and make others laugh was very important to him. He was a hard worker on the farm, loved motorcycles and ATV’s. He tried very hard to be mechanical.
Austin was a senior at the Illini Bluffs High School in Glasford. On October 2, he was to begin the process of enrollment into the United States Marine Corp which was his long time dream. He was a wrestler, on the soccer team, track team and a cross country runner. He was in the Chamber Choir singing in Madrigals and the Show Choir. He attended Boy’s State. He was a born again Christian and was a member of the Living Hope Community Church in Bartonville.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 6 PM on Monday, October 3, 2011 at the Illini Bluff High School Gymnasium. Pastor Art Georges and Pastor Paul Cook will officiate. The Davison Fulton Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin is in charge of arrangements. A memorial fund has been established in Austin’s name for sports athletes at CEFCU.
