Arlene R White

Born September 17, 1935 in Pekin to Ernest Felix and Edith Nellie (Hilst) Jacob, she married Huey Dural White on September 26, 1953 in Hopedale. He died March 25, 2019 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Kenneth Jacob, Glenn Jacob, Elvin “Jake” Jacob and Darrell Jacob; one sister, Lois Edith Wolfe and one half-sister, Barbara Jacob.

Surviving are one daughter, Linda (David) Bowman of Pekin; two sons, Edward (Sandy) White of Pekin and Gary (Denise) White of Havana; seven grandchildren, Melanie (Seth) Groene of Normal, Benjamin (Kelli) Bowman of Washington, Cynthia Bowman of Pekin, Thomas White of Pekin, Michael White of Mackinaw, Jonathan (Kristina) White of Hopedale and Sara (John) Hawkins of Sunset, Louisiana; six great-grandchildren, Eliot, Warren, Olivia, Iyla, David Michael and Anabelle; four half-brothers, Ernest (Linda) Jacob, Randy (Francine) Jacob, Mark Jacob, all of Marquette Heights and Ronald (Vicky) Jacob of Pekin and three half-sisters, Kathy Jacob of East Peoria, Jennifer (Mike) Kaak of East Peoria and Cheryl Gibson of Waukesha, Wisconsin.

In earlier years, Arlene worked for Morton Pottery and at Libby’s in Morton.

She was devoted to her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.

She was a member of the North Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Pekin.

Her graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Elder Barry Hatton will officiate. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Jehovah’s Witnesses in care of Kingdom Hall, 2726 Broadway, Pekin, IL 61554.
