Born November 24, 1943 in Pekin to Ray Earl and Clara (Calhoun) Wooding, she married Ben A. Johnson, Jr. on September 3, 1982 in Bartonville. He died January 3, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Faron Michael Neville; one infant sister, Sally Jo Wooding; and one brother, Keith Wooding.
Surviving are two sons, Rick (Tina Beinlich) Messmore of McHenry and Rodney Messmore of Mapleton; two daughters, Robin Martin of Pekin and Rebecca (Greg) Tillman of Southwest Harbor, Maine; nine grandchildren, Elizabeth “Lizzy” Beinlich, Brenna Messmore, Kaleb Messmore, Jessica (Garrett) O’Connell, Kolby (Jenna) Martin, Tabitha Martin, Zachary Messmore, Alexander Messmore, and Nathaniel Messmore; many great-grandchildren; one brother, Randy (Christine) Wooding of Pekin; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is her longtime high school and best friend, Patty Kramer.
Ann had worked at Sandy’s in Pekin, the Orange Bowl in the Northwoods Mall in Peoria for 17 ½ years, and as a lunch lady at Illini Bluffs School in Glasford. She last worked at McDonald’s in Creve Coeur for 15 years, last as the manager.
She attended Manito Baptist Church.
Ann enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and aggravating her brother, Randy. She loved to listen to Blue Grass music.
Her private graveside service will be Friday, December 4, 2020 at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Mapleton. There will be no visitation. Pastor John Vaughn will officiate.
