Born April 10, 1930 in Joplin, Missouri to Arthur Rayl and Clara (Lair) Rayl, she married Harlan King June 13, 1947 in Pekin. He passed away September 6, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her father, Arthur Rayl; mother, Clara (Lair) Patton and one son, Jeffery King.
Surviving are one daughter Jill (Jerry) Branson of Creve Coeur; one grandchild, Rachael (Larry) Jenks of Washington; one great-granddaughter, Addison Jenks of Washington and one daughter-in-law, Linda King of East Peoria.
Alice was a hairdresser for many years before retiring in 1990.
She enjoyed singing and sang with the church choir for 30 years. She also sang many solos at the Pekin Bible Church. Alice was a Sunday school teacher for 20 years. She was also a volunteer with the Peoria Outreach for many years. Previously she had volunteered with the Good News Clubs for Child Evangelism Fellowships.
Alice was a member of the Riverside Community Church in Peoria.
Her graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Pastor John King will officiate.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
