I’d like to think that, when people die.. and we don’t understand it. Because “they were so young.” or “they loved God.” “They feared Him.” “They brought people to Him, so why?” That, it ties back to the verses about God being jealous of the Israelites. Because God is jealous. He wants all of us. All of our character, all of our flaws, everything. He wants all of us. And I’d like to think, that when God takes away the people who seem to have said and done everything right. It’s because He’s so jealous, He can’t stand leaving them on an earth like this anymore. God is a jealous God. And I’m happy I get to say I knew someone He just couldn’t wait to meet. I miss you Vanessa. <3

This was last year when u turned 17. Will forever celebrate every Nov 15 with you. I miss you so much sissy. 

My son got to work with Vanessa during GeoForce and mentioned how she was so kind and very smart. My deepest condolences.  May God give you the strength during this difficult time. 

Until we meet again Fireyoup Sister... God knows how much fun and learning we had in our season together. You will be truly miss and never forgotten

she got snapchat and didn’t know how to act she was such a happy soul, God protect her.

We wanted to match one day so we had bought the spooky bucees shirt like in august just so we could match. 

Though I am still reeling from the sudden death of my dear student, Vanessa, I am humbled and touched by her time here with us. Vanessa was one of the 20 jewels in my PBL class where I get to interact with them one on one and share our thoughts, experiences and anything that we would like to talk about. It was during this class time, I understood that she had a spark within her. She truly had a gift to connect to people, understand them, make them feel special, and like they mattered. She was patient, intelligent, and the funniest student I knew. I remember the time when I broke the news in my class about my absence few weeks before summer vacations. I got a little emotional and Vanessa was quick enough to realize the silence and immediately said something like, “you know we all in the class love babies so you could bring your baby here and we will take turns and entertain him". I clearly saw what she did there. A couple of days later, she showed me a 3-minute video that she made for me. It touched my heart and is a lovely keepsake that will always remain special to me.
I am so grateful to have known her. I will miss her. Thank you for everything dear child.

Hey girlie, 
I remember the day I met you so vividly.  It was your first time serving in Kidslife and you were standing in the corner alone. You looked up and smiled at me, I smiled back. Something told me to go and talk to you so I did. Little did I know the week after, we'd be in the same group at Lakewood High School Summer Camp. I remember  us having so much fun! I remember "campbae" lol. And I saw you every Saturday night after that for a while. We had so much fun with the kids and with each other. Thank you for touching my life with your kindness and tender heart. Thank you for that first smile, and for memories that will last forever! I love you! 


Vanessa is laughing, dancing, and having the best time in heaven right now. Her death was a shock to everyone, but she will never feel pain, sadness, or sorrow anymore. My full condolences to the family of Vanessa Baeza; much love. 

From the first day here at the Marathon building when you started working here, I knew I was so fortunate to get to meet this one Gorgeous girl. From that point on, I would see Vanessa coming into the building on her way up to her floor. I would be sitting at the concierge desk to say hi to the employees coming into work. It almost seemed that when she got to work, it was for us to say Hi. She would give me a little smile and a little Hi gesture with one of her hands, and I would give it right back. It never stopped. I know her spirit is still coming into work every day and I feel that were still smiling to one another and waving to each other. I'm going to miss that beautiful smile and you walking into work each day.Rest easy pretty lady

You were so happy this day! We'll always remember you this way, happy and full of life  You'll forever be missed, beautiful Vanessa. 

Vanessa was a sweet, kind, loving young women who was part of our family.  We watched how she grew and how her parents took great care in her upbringing. The influence that both of you gave her made her into the wonderful person she is. We will dearly miss her and our thoughts and prayers are with you Jason and Laura. We will continue to be hear with you on this journey. We know that she is just resting and we will see Vanessa again in the New Jerusalem.  Rest in love and fly high above the clouds upon Gods triumphant return.

Vanessa will be deeply missed! Especially on Mondays at City Centre Run Club condolences to the family. She always lightened run Mondays with a smile no matter what the weather, even if it was the Summer super hot  or winter and the  cold she was always positive, happy and ready to run. She will be missed extremely. 

She was a such a great friend so much so she went to my graduation party and she had to go to someone else’s graduation party the same day. It was a joy to have her at my party and my family was happy to meet her and enjoy her presence she made an impression on a lot of my family they believed she was such a kind hearted person. We send out our condolences to Vanessa’s family. We know she is in a better place

I met Vanessa at church we first met at event and she didn’t remember me so we met again at another church event we raced because she said she was a track runner and we were both very competitive so we raced multiple times and of course she beat me once out of three times. Then we realized we both went to the same school we started to become a whole lot closer. We both really loved church and she would always be so full of life when we went to hope and life nights. I will forever miss that. Not only was she a great friend she was also a great inspiration whether it was encouraging my singing every time she heard me sing or to help encourage others. She will forever be in my heart. I miss you Vanessa and we will see each other and laugh again someday but until then save me a seat and keep it warm

Another hope and life Wednesday. Vanessa so photogenic it’s insane. But she came to church straight after school, as you can see I’m wearing her backpack in the picture because I didn’t want her to carry it around the whole time we were in church. My goodness her backpack was heavier than I thought. God blessed her with a strong back because mine gave out as soon as I put it on. But Vanessa looked too good that night to be walking around with a backpack so i sucked it up and wore it the rest of the night so she could be free to look great in the Lord’s house. The fact that she even had that backpack shows how much she loved Jesus. She didn’t go home after school or anything. No. She went straight to church despite having to carry a 100 pound book bag on her back. She didn’t even wait for her parents, she ubered to church. Why? Because the love she had for God was truly everlasting and pure. Just like her heart. 

Last Christmas… she begged me to go get hot cocoa and take pics with Santa but I didn’t want to. But then I thought, this would be a great time to capture a memory like this for Christmas and many more to come. This is one of the 58 pics that we took that came out great because Lord knows we took more than enough. I want to go back to this day so bad but if God decided to take her this early, you know what that means? She’s fulfilled her purpose on this planet. Sometimes it takes us longer than others to fulfill what we were put on this planet to do and it seems like when Vanessa was born she meant business because she has changed my life and yours i’m so many ways but i’m so little time. I pray to our heavenly father that he helps us celebrate the completion of one’s purpose on earth instead of mourning the life of an angelic soul on this sinful world. Vanessa I love you, and like she tells me all the time, YASS SUPER QUEENNN. Lord, take care of our friend, daughter, sister, cousin, and teammate while she’s by your side right now. Thank You.

This is what we call a BeReal. Vanessa loved doing them in church and this was one of them. After a hope and life service she wanted to do the BeReal and I told her let’s make it goofy and like the picture shows, it was pretty goofy.

I wanted to share this fun memory when we decided to be quadruplets for twin day. Sending my thoughts and prayers to the family.  She was truly a rose.
